A Brief History

Some background

In 1990, the premises of Saltisford Evangelical Church in Albert Street, Warwick were becoming too small for the growing congregation. Consequently, the church started holding its Sunday morning service at Myton School. In 1996, because numbers continued to rise, some of the church members started a Sunday morning service back at Albert Street.

As both congregations expanded, in 2003 two distinct churches were formed. Those meeting at Albert Street retained the name Saltisford Evangelical Church while those meeting at the school adopted the name Myton Church.

Our relationship with Myton School

Over the years, a good working relationship has been established between the church and Myton School. The church was happy to be the major community sponsor in the school’s successful bid for Science College status. We use the Lower School Hall for our Sunday morning services every week. The school have also allowed us to build our Church Centre on site, which is used not only as our administration base but also for a wide variety of midweek meetings and activities.
