Housegroups
Members and regulars of Myton Church also belong to one of a number of housegroups which meet in various homes on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings, Tuesday afternoons or Wednesday mornings, and which provide a meaningful context for helping each other become more devoted disciples of Jesus Christ and thereby strengthening the whole church by means of:
- encouragement through friendship and hospitality
- Bible study in order to understand the Bible’s teaching and apply it to everyday life
- prayer for one another, for unbelieving friends, and for the church’s work of evangelism and world mission
Housegroup members should be willing to both give and receive help that promotes discipleship to Jesus Christ by:
- actively participating in the group’s life of friendship-building, Bible study and prayer
The Housegroup Leader’s role is to develop an environment where group members can help each other become more devoted disciples of Jesus Christ by means of:
- arranging programmes that take into account the needs and spiritual maturity of group members
- encouraging each group member to use their spiritual gifts and talents
- ensuring that the group realises its responsibility to offer practical care and support to one another
Tricia Lee co-ordinates the housegroups. She will be able to direct you to the group that will suit you best.
